Get ready for one of the smartest MacBook deals this season. During Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2025 sale, the 13.6‑inch MacBook Air M2 (16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) is going for just ₹63,990 (inclusive of bank discounts).

This rock‑bottom price includes instant bank offers (e.g. ICICI/Axis cards) and even a ₹5,000 exchange bonus. By comparison, the M2 Air launched at ₹99,900, so this is a historic low!
With EMI-based bank deals the final price is effectively around ₹64-65k. In short, if you’ve been eyeing an Apple ultraportable, this Flipkart deal on the M2 is a steal (one of the lowest prices seen yet for this model).
Just like the MacBook Air M2, the MacBook Air M4 will also be at its lowest price of the year, but in the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale 2025. The M4 is expected to be priced around ₹75k so let’s compare M2 and M4 to find which one will be the best for you to grab.

MacBook Air M2 vs M4: Performance
Under the hood, the Air M4 (2025) is a clear step up from the M2. The M4 chip sports a 10‑core CPU (4 performance + 6 efficiency cores) versus the M2’s 8‑core (4+4) design.
The M4 also offers higher memory bandwidth (120 GB/s vs 100 GB/s), and an optional GPU boost (base 8‑core GPU on both, but the M4 can be configured with a 10‑core GPU).
In practice, benchmarks show the M4 roughly 20% faster in multi‑threaded tasks than the M2. This extra grunt means the Air M4 powers through demanding workloads (video rendering, heavy multitasking, etc.) more smoothly. It even adds features like hardware‑accelerated ray tracing for graphics and can drive two 6K external displays simultaneously, whereas the M2 Air is limited to one.
That said, the M2 Air still packs plenty of performance for everyday use. Even with newer models out, the M2 “remains one of the most balanced laptops you can buy”.
Its 8‑core GPU and 16‑core Neural Engine handle common tasks (web browsing, streaming, office work, light photo/video editing) with ease. For typical students or office users, the M2’s speed is more than adequate.
The extra M4 power is most beneficial for pro users i.e. programmers, content creators or anyone doing heavy computation (who can take advantage of the higher core count and memory).
Design & Display

Physically, the M2 and M4 Airs are nearly identical. Both are slim, fanless unibody laptops weighing about 1.24-1.25 kg. They share Apple’s familiar wedge shape, edge‑to‑edge 13.6‑inch Liquid Retina display (2560×1664 resolution, 500 nits, P3 color, True Tone), and overall build quality. In fact, the screens are essentially the same on both machines (same size and brightness), so you won’t notice a difference in viewing experience between them.
There are a few subtle upgrades in the M4 design. Apple introduced a new “Sky Blue” color (alongside Silver, Starlight, Midnight) for the M4, whereas the M2 is only available in Midnight, Starlight, Space Gray, or Silver.
The M4 also upgrades the webcam to a 12MP Center Stage camera, whereas the M2 Air has a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a nice bonus for video calls. Internally, the M4 uses Thunderbolt 4 ports and Wi‑Fi 6E, while the M2 has Thunderbolt/USB 4 (Thunderbolt 3 speeds) and Wi‑Fi 6.
Both have MagSafe 3 charging and a headphone jack. In short, if you compare them side‑by‑side you’ll find the looks and feel are the same. The key differences are under the hood and in a couple of modern features (better webcam, new color, slightly faster I/O).
Battery Life
Apple rates both models for roughly the same runtime i.e. up to 18 hours of video playback or about 15 hours of wireless web on battery.
In real-world use, the M4’s efficiency improvements seem to roughly balance out any extra power draw, so you’ll get similar all‑day battery life on either machine.
Early tests suggest both laptops easily last a full workday of mixed tasks. Some anecdotal reports even hint the M2’s battery can edge out the M4 under certain light workloads, but overall they’re comparable.
In practice, whether you choose the Air M2 or the newer Air M4, you can expect all-day use on a charge.

Value for Money
The big differentiator right now is price. The Air M2 (base 16GB/512GB) will be on sale for ₹63,990 on Flipkart (BBD). By contrast, the Air M4 (base 16GB/256GB) currently lists for ₹83,990 on Amazon.
However, with bank offers (₹4,200 discount on SBI Card, cashback on ICICI Amazon Pay Credit Card, etc.), the M4’s effective price drops just under ₹80k (around ₹79,490 as of now). Its Great Indian Sale price is expected to be around ₹73,999. In other words, you pay ₹64k for the 16/512 M2 vs ₹74k for the 16/256 M4 (₹10k difference).
Historically the M2 Air launched at ₹99,900 and the M4 started at the same ₹99,900 for the 16GB/256GB model, so both are seeing deep discounts. M2 deals have gotten rarer on MacBooks, so seeing it near ₹64k is unusually low.
Analysts already call the current ~₹79k effective price of the M4, a bargain! But even today, the M2 deal represents better bang for buck as you get a snappy MacBook at a much lower cost. Unless you truly need the extra power, “the M2 deal at ₹65k is simply better value for money”.

Buying Advice: Which Air Is Right for You?
- On a budget (students, everyday users): Go M2 Air. At ₹63k it’s an incredible value. You still get Apple’s powerful M2 chip, a gorgeous Retina display, and fanless portability. It easily handles web, docs, video chat and even moderate photo/video editing. You’ll save ~₹10-15k versus the M4, money that could buy accessories or be put aside.
- Need more power (creatives, pros, developers): Consider M4 Air. It has a beefier chip and 16GB RAM by default, making it more future‑proof. If you run heavy apps (compiled code, 3D graphics, video encoding, multiple external monitors, etc.), the M4’s extra cores and RAM pay off. The M4 also adds a better webcam and Wi‑Fi 6E. If your workflow benefits from that extra performance and you don’t mind the higher spend, the M4 is worth it, especially as its price may slide further during the sales.
- Dual‑monitor or longevity needs: M4 is the only one that natively drives two 6K monitors (M2 only supports one) and likely stays fast longer in the future. Also, if you regularly keep many apps/tabs open, M4’s base 16GB RAM is a big plus.
- Casual users or travelers: The M2’s lighter price makes it the smarter choice. You still get a premium MacBook experience i.e. the same stunning screen, same battery life, and you won’t notice the performance difference unless you push it with heavy tasks.
Bottom line: The Flipkart BBD deal on the Air M2 is too good to pass up if you value savings. The Air M2 is fast, light, and now incredibly affordable. If you absolutely need the latest chip, go for the Air M4, especially if a few extra thousand won’t hurt and you can use those deals. Otherwise, most users will find the M2 Air at ₹63,990 to be the better value choice.
